My straggly little garden has produced its first ripe tomato!This one tomato, featured here on July 24, took a full month and a half to ripen. If I'd been waiting on this for a meal, I'd have died of starvation by now.
But I'm proud that it made it. I almost felt wrong picking it, since it worked so hard to get to this point.
Now the other six tomatoes that are growing (a regular surplus!) should be ripe by Thanksgiving.
